I am still upbeat after the wonderful meeting tonight and wanted to post the details about next meeting before I change into my Clarke Kent dress.
So, here are the details:

Book: Continue with “Developing the Leader Within” by John Maxwell (chapters 2 & 3).
We had a fantastic discussion tonight! In fact, we were so engrossed in the conversation that we could only talk about the first chapter of the book (Leadership is Influence) instead of the scheduled two chapters.
We discussed various issues and ideas leading off from the core principle of Leadership via influence. Ram, Suraj and Sanjay had some great ideas from their personal and professional lives and everyone had at least 1 or 2 take-way ideas that they plan to implement soon!!
We were all pretty excited to continue these meetings. If you want to be a part of the club and share and benefit from the brainstorming and sharing, be sure to attend our next meeting. More details to follow….

Suraj and I brainstormed a little about how best to utilize our time together at the meeting. I realize how valuable the time is for everybody. So, we tossed around a couple ideas and agreed upon the following:
All of us can read the first two chapters from the book “Developing the Leader within” (believe me that won’t take more than 30 minutes. John Maxwell has a very easy, anecdotal style of writing so reading the first two chapters should be a breeze for anyone) and make notes about some of the ideas/topics that John Maxwell discussed in the book. We can then open up the forum for discussion at the meeting. All of us are pretty opinionated so I am sure we will have a great time at the meeting.
I like this idea but if anyone else has more ideas we can always discuss them as well.

It is getting difficult for me to reserve the meeting room at the Hillsboro Main library because of their reservation conditions and the popularity of the place. What do people think about meeting at the Corillian campus center instead?
The place is easily accessible and I don’t mind being the single point-of-failure since this is going to be a once-a-month affair.
We decided to go with legendary leadership author John Maxwell’s book “Developing the Leader within You”.
Tons of paperback and hardbound copies are available all over the internet, including on Amazon & Barnes&Noble. You can easily find a good new or used copy for under 10$. I might pick a copy at Barnes & Noble tomorrow so if someone wants to borrow mine, feel free to email me!
Because of some conflicts we may not be able to meet at the scheduled date, time & place (Tuesday June 24th at the Hillsboro Main Library)
I will post the details on this blog as soon as we decide on the date, time and venue.
